Over the years I have been
fortunate enough to meet many Canadian Filipinos, and as well having traveled a great
number of times to the Philippines. As a photographer I have learned to greatly
appreciate and enjoy the wonderful Filipino-Canadian connections, as well as the stunning
beauty of both countries.
The bonds between Canada and the Philippines continue to grow year by year, and
we dedicate this site to the Filipino/Canadian communities extending across both
countries.
We also hope in the future to add another section for those Filipinos living
abroad in other countries as well, watch for this expansion in the coming
future.
In particular we dedicate this site to the millions who struggle in
their daily lives simply, to put food on their tables. The victims of an
international lack of will to end the exploitation of the Philippines as a
source of cheap labor and insuring the wealthy stay and get wealthier, while the
rest of the world looks on but does nothing about it.
The Philippines is one of the most beautiful tropical countries on the planet,
however the majority of those living there struggle, just to stay alive, and any
effort to fix their government most often results in their execution by those in
power. There are few of us who have spent time in the Philippines, and not shed
tears for what we witnessed during our visit there.
To the credit of all Filipinos, foreigners often comment, that the Philippines
still remains, the most hospitable country on earth.
Those living abroad today are a testament to the "Great Escape" of hope to find
peace and security abroad, that alludes them in the Philippines.
The next time you hear the term
"Third World Country" know that it means "The Exploited" and the next
time you hear the term "Aid for Third World Nations" Know that it really
means "The Perpetrators". Although it may not be exactly accurate,
its much closer to the real truth. Those countries who claim to be
giving the most are in reality taking the most from the Filipino's
poorest people.
If we don't speak up for the abuse in the Philippines, who will? Everyone can
play a role in insuring the equality and security of mankind globally, but only
if we dare speak up and defend justice, starting by defending the truth to those
we communicate with in our daily lives.
On a more positive note we also maintain that the biodiversity of the Philippines is truly
impressive in global terms. This is certainly true of overall diversity, but
especially so as regards endemism. In absolute numbers, its endemic species in
groups like plants, mammals, birds, reptiles, butterflies are comparable to and
often exceed the much larger mega-diversity countries. The Philippines harbors
about 8,000+ species of flowering plants distributed in about 1,600 genera and
191 families. There are more than 6,490 species of non-flowering plants (i.e.
algae, fungi, mosses, ferns, etc.) and combined with vascular plants the total
number of plants is about 14,490+species! Of this number, between 30% to 40% are
said to be endemic to the country and nowhere else found. "LET US LOVE AND
PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE PHILIPPINES" for our children's sake, if not our
own.

exploitation of the Philippines, see our sister website

The photography by Timber Wolf Studios is a photo journal account of the extreme
rich, the extreme poor, and its consequence.
We also will bring you the best of
the natural beauty of both countries.
This site will be in a continuous state of construction as we try bring you more
